Testimonies from the Weapons of Our Warfare class
presented at Indian Lake, Texas

 

The Weapons of Our Warfare Seminar grabbed my attention from the first sentence to the very last syllable. As Jerry McGuire’s girlfriend states in the movie of the same name, “You had me at hello.” It was a time of healing and comfort for me personally. As others in our class stated, “It was a simple and a plain presentation of God’s truth by a man listening to Him,” and I echo their sentiments indeed. What a burden relieved to realize that we do not have to be strong in ourselves any longer, but in Him who has called us, thus joyfully ending for me many wasted years of trying to fit the round peg into the square hole. It sure saves time and grief knowing what God really says! Instead, we simply live in obedience to Him. “Lord, what wilt thou have me to do?” In closing, I would say that the knowledge you presented and then the understanding poured on by our Lord allowed my heart to soar and now I have no excuse not to fly. Wrong teaching and improper applications of truth are serious impediments to a Christian’s ministry. Our hearts may be willing, but we are bound by these cords. Thanks for severing captive cords.

Forewarning: Since men are allowed about 1/6 the amount of words per day as women, my comments will be noticeably shorter than my wife’s!

The key point that will help me most is knowing that when God gives us revelation, our job is simply to obey. God then gives us the faith to believe. When we speak it forth, God makes it happen. It is not me that makes it happen. I am simply the messenger. I don’t have to renew my mind (if that were possible), nor do I have to conjure up some mystical strength from somewhere. God gives me a simple, easily-followed job — love Him and keep His commandments, which includes revelation. That I can do. Thanks again for clearing up many of my false beliefs through systematic use of the scriptures.
